Established in 1998, PoMoArts, the Port Moody Arts Centre, is a not-for-profit organization that creates art experiences to engage, challenge, and awaken opportunities for connection. We provide art education, exhibitions, and community art experiences in the City of the Arts with various partners and artists each year. We are a busy Arts Centre that builds community through art and are looking to grow our collaborative team.

WHAT WE OFFER:
- Compensation based on experience and qualifications. Starting at $28 – $30 per hour.
- PoMoArts manages studio space, scheduling, registration, and program promotion.
- Access to a fully equipped ceramics studio, including wheels, kilns, and glazing facilities.

- A collaborative and supportive work environment that values creativity and innovation.
- Design and deliver engaging ceramic classes for children or teens, focusing on hand-building and/ or wheel-throwing and glazing techniques.
- Create a fun and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Provide hands-on instruction and personalized guidance to students, fostering creativity, skill development, and confidence.
- Inspire and mentor young artists to explore their potential while making learning engaging and accessible.
- Undertake additional duties related to studio operations as required.
- Maintain a safe and organized studio environment, applying child-friendly safety measures as required.
- Follow studio procedures in our professional & customer friendly environment.
- Provide lesson planning for all classes and activities.
- Participate in Arts Centre events, exhibitions, and other initiatives as possible.
ASSETS:
- A portfolio showcasing work created by students in past classes.
- Experience organizing student art showcases or exhibitions.
- Familiarity with alternative firing techniques suitable for children’s learning (e.g., low-fire glazes, underglazes, low-fire clay projects).
- Best practices for teaching children.
- Connections within the regional or national ceramics community, local or beyond.
- Additional spoken languages other than English.
