Concrete Finisher

• Employer: Proform Concrete Services

• Job Locations: Based in Red Deer. The position requires travel to various locations in Alberta. The employer provides transportation. Flight reimbursement for relocation from within Canada available, per company policy.
• Wage: $32/hour (salary increases as per Company policy)
• Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, Full-Time, 40 to 60 hours/week (weather-dependent), Morning, Day, Weekend, Overtime
• Vacancies: 17

Job requirements:

• Language: Basic English
• Education: Not required
• Experience: 3 years of related experience
• Work Setting: Commercial, Roads and bridges, Sidewalks and curbs
• Work Site Environment:  Outdoors, Dusty
• Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 23kg/50lbs), Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods
• Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Reliability, Team player
• Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Duties:

• Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade,
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement,
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete,
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification,
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools,
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces,
• Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures,
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
