Amazon Stores FinTech Team is seeking a IT Application Analyst to help optimize the TM1/Planning Analytics solutions in Financial Planning & Reporting space for its Finance business partners and customers. Key job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with finance, product, program and engineering business partners to scope detailed business requirements for TM1/Planning Analytics solutions to optimize finance organizations reporting and planning processes
  • Collaborate with our business partners on researching and analyzing pain points with current applications and document for reference
  • Daily tasks require working with customers and developers on technical operations. Longer term tasks will include research, planning and design discussions with our internal customers.
  • This role also requires troubleshooting and support for customers for launched TM1/Planning Analytics solutions.
  • You participate in the hands on design and development of technology solutions. You bring data to the table that can help improve or reinvent the business process.
  • You anticipate bottlenecks, manage competing priorities, evaluate and make tradeoff decisions, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and maximize business benefit.
  • In this role, operational excellence is a key priority. You track down the true root cause of issues and take action to correct the errors. You have a constant eye for improvement.
  • You focus heavily on cross-functional communication to ensure key decisions, risks, issues, and solution status are made clear to all.
  • You will assess the feasibility of syncing TM1/Planning Applications with external data sources through innovative design where applicable
  • You are prompt, professional, articulate, and persistent in your interactions with customers and our partners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant system support experience exhibiting knowledge of financial systems, planning, budgeting and forecasting functions and related processes
  • 3+ years experience with IBM Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1)
  • 3+ years experience working with cross-functional engagements, problem solving, business partnering skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams, and excellent and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues and co-ordinate with product managers and engineering teams for short term and long term solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, general DW concepts
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling
  • Experience with Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases - Redshift, Teradata etc
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment
