In partnership with Prime Management Group Inc., Steelway Building Systems is recruiting a  Senior Accountant with a proactive, solutions-focused attitude to join its Finance Team in Aylmer, Ontario. The experienced Senior Accountant will support the daily operations of the Finance department in key finance functions, maintaining high standards of accuracy and contributing to initiatives that optimize the company’s financial processes.

Reporting to the Controller, the team-oriented Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the development of efficient financial processes to support Steelway’s growth and operational goals. The collaborative Senior Accountant will focus on the following:

  • Collaborate on month-end and year-end accounting and reporting tasks.
  • Ensure accurate analysis and processing of ERP transactions for monthly reporting.
  • Oversee timely and accurate vendor payments and accounts payable processes.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and related accounting for over 200 employees.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain effective customer interactions.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Contribute to internal control monitoring and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Propose and implement targeted process improvements to increase departmental efficiency.

To succeed as the Senior Accountant at Steelway Building Systems, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or active progression toward completion is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in accounting; payroll experience is an asset.
  • A team-oriented approach with flexibility and a commitment to supporting colleagues.
  • Familiarity with construction invoicing and contracts is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP systems is beneficial.
