Job Description

Overview
The City of Kitchener is hiring summer students to help the Forestry area of our Parks and Cemeteries department with plant maintenance.
(Temporary Full Time for Approximately 4 Months)
Responsibilities
Waters plant materials as required.
Performs basic structural pruning on newly planted trees.
Assists Forestry staff with projects on an as-needed basis.
Assists Horticulture staff with various maintenance duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Minimum equivalent to partial secondary school education.
Experience
Minimum 1 month of related experience.
Additional Requirements
Valid MTO G class driver's license in good standing.
Must provide Drivers Abstract at your own expense as a condition of employment.
Must be willing to work in a team environment and have a willingness to accept directions.
Enrolled in secondary or post secondary school and returning to school in the next semester.
Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to perform physical labour.
Strong customer service skills.
