Position Name: Cellular Field Test Engineer Tokyo Job

Annual Salary: 5 million yen and above

Responsibilities:

• Drive locally and non-locally, sometimes on short notice, to test cellular connectivity of next-gen smartphones and devices (4 days in the field, 1 day in the lab per week).
• May travel up to 1 hour away from the test site, for up to 4 days a week. Transportation/driver will be provided.
• Communicate technical issues effectively with strong fundamental and decision-making skills.
• Able to analyze test/data, progress independently without always needing help, and adapt quickly.
• We’re not necessarily looking for experts, but candidates with 1–5 years of experience and solid fundamental skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify issues (must be able to judge test conditions/results and determine next steps without constantly seeking help).
• Report findings with data, explain technical issues, and adapt easily.
• If the candidate is not an expert but has the basics, training will be provided.

Cellular Field Test Engineer Tokyo Job Qualification:

• 2–7 years of experience in cellular field testing or cellular QA testing.
• Recent hands-on experience directly testing cellular protocol stacks on devices (5G/LTE).
• Strong knowledge of cellular domain wireless, 5G NR, and LTE protocol stack.
• Experience troubleshooting typical technical setup issues in the field.
• Required: experience analyzing cellular baseband logs, preferably with strong field experience.
• Experience reviewing cellular logs for debugging in the field.
• Strong analytical and judgment skills when running test campaigns.
• Quick adaptability and learning ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong focus on identifying issues.
• Willingness to travel locally and non-locally on short notice.
