Job Description

Position: Phlebotomist

We are currently seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team as a contractor.

Contract Details:

This is a contract position with a duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. The contractor will work on a full-time basis, with a schedule of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages

- Collect and label blood specimens accurately and in a timely manner

- Follow proper protocols and safety measures to ensure the integrity and quality of the collected samples

- Verify patient identification and maintain patient confidentiality

- Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for blood collection

- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare team members, and laboratory staff

- Maintain accurate and organized records of collected specimens and related paperwork

- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of a phlebotomy training program

- Current certification as a phlebotomist

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist in a healthcare setting

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and safety measures

- Ability to handle stressful situations and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends if needed

- Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records
